Even if your company’s budget doesn’t support a full-scale public and community relations plan, there are still ways to spread the buzz about your business. Follow this informal equation to create an effective PR program and build brand momentum bit by bit.

Big Stuff (news and announcements)
+ Little Stuff (updates and personnel)
+ Direct-to-Customer Stuff (sending news to customers, expos)
+ Outreach Stuff (seminars, events, etc.)
+ Community Stuff (donations, auction prizes, etc.)
+ Achievements (awards, ratings, etc.)
+ Internal Stuff (a.k.a. “inreach”)
= Public Relations/Community Relations Success

And, as I like to remind clients, solid PR starts from within. Get your team excited about your brand and the enthusiasm is sure to quickly spread to the outside world.
